Oral diseases are a serious health problem for people with disabilities, with higher frequency and severity especially Visually challenged people have poorer oral hygiene when compared to others. Therefore, there is a necessity for individual training by making awareness in oral care and plaque control so as to improve their oral hygiene.
With this objective Federation of Special Care Dentistry organised a webinar “Oral Health and Dental Care for Visually Challenged Young Adults”, for the beneficiaries of Sir Gangadharrao Chitnavis Trust, Nagpur.
FSCD is a global association of health care professionals that work for the well-being of individuals with special care needs.
Nisha Thakur, Program Manager of Sir Gangadharrao Chitnavis Trust welcomed the Guest Speaker Dr.Deepti Jawa Singh, Professor,Dept Of Pediatrics And Preventive DentistryDIVYA JYOTI COLLEGE OF DENTAL SCIENCES AND RESEARCH, Modinagar and Gayathri Vatsalya, Director, Federation of Special Care Dentistry.
The webinar was attended by the Visually Challenged Young Adults and their parents.
Dr Deepti Jawa spoke about the importance of Dental Care and various steps to be followed daily for oral hygiene.She explained through rendering some songs&poems and made it very interesting and simple.
All the participants very actively involved in the session and expressed their queries about better oral health practices.
Dr.Priya Verma, Secretary FSCD was prominently present during the session.
