A deputation led by Adv Nishant Gandhi, Corporator, met Dayashankar Tiwari, the Mayor, here on Thursday and submitted a memorandum to press the demand for Nagpur city having its own anthem looking at the glorious history and importance in geographical, cultural, social and political fields to it.
Adv Gandhi apprised Tiwari of the centrally situated Nagpur city, its honour in different fields and once upon Capital of C P & Berar province. Being second Capital of Maharashtra, Nagpur city is making strides in different areas. There should a an anthem for this city to know its history and get inspiration to youths and hence Nagpur Municipal Corporation should take necessary step in this regard.
Tiwari appreciated the concept and assured to make required efforts to fulfil the demand. The deputation was consisted of Balasaheb Kulkarni, member of Khasdar DSanskritik Mahotsava Samiti, Pradeep Maitra, Chairman of Nagpur Shramik Patrakar Trust, Naresh Gadekar, President of Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad, Rekha Dandige, poet Prof Manish Vajpayee, poet Loknath Yashwant, Sagar Khadiwala and Mahesh Tiwari.
