Shahid Din was observed at Maha Metro’s Sitabuldi Interchange station with great zeal and enthusiasm. A band of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) played patriotic songs at the station, which greatly inspired commuters. The songs were an homage to martyred jawans.
Large number of metro commuters stopped to listen to these patriotic songs being played at the bandstand. The band played under the guidance of SRPF Commandant Shri Pankaj Dahane.
PSI Shri Mangal Madavi said that every year the Shahid Din is observed all over the state every year to pay homage to the police jawans, who laid down their lives for the country. He said that other than the band playing patriotic songs various other programmes are organized to mark the occasion.
Maha Metro has constructed the band stand at Sitabuldi Interchange station to provide an opportunity to emerging artists to showcase their talent. This year, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) band, Sursangam Music Group and Sajal Music Group had performed on January 26 (Republic Day), August 15 (Independence Day) and October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti). They presented patriotic songs on this occasion. The commuters had responded positively in large numbers.
