A team of forestmen successfully rescued a full-grown tiger from an open well in Mokhada village in Warora Forest Range, Chandrapur district, on Monday.
It is reported that the tiger chasing some wild animal accidentally fell in the well without parapet well belonging to a farmer Sarpate last night. The incident came to light when the farmer and some villagers noticed the big cat in the well struggling for life.
They immediately informed forest officials about it. Upon getting the information that spread like jungle fire M P Rathod, Range Forest Officer, Warora, and staff members rushed to the spot to rescue the carnivore. A Rapid Response Team from Chandrapur also reached there.
Before starting the rescue operation, forestmen had a tough time to disperse the curious crowd gathered there. They lowered a wooden cot in inverted position tied with ropes. Finding opportunity, the tiger took shelter on the cot while foresters pulled up ropes. No sooner the tiger came up then he jumped out to disappear in the nearby jungle.
