The Twitter from Maharashtra Minister for Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, would be a message to rejoice by those in higher education.
Samant through a Twitter message has stated that the State Government has cleared recruitment of 2088 posts of teachers in universities and colleges. Besides, permission for recruitment of principals in all the colleges has also been granted.
“The decision has been taken on Tuesday evening under the leadership Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawarâ€, Samant has quoted.
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University had halted appointment against 92 sanctioned posts in its post-graduate departments, following dispute relating to reservation for Maratha community.
The details of the decision, however, are not known. Samant has stated that the posts have been sanctioned as the first phase of recruitment.
During the tenure of Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister ban on recruitment of teachers in universities and colleges, was partially lifted. Whether the present decision is part of that relaxation or more than that, would be clear after formal notification in this connection is issued.
