Fishery Maharashtra Animal & Sciences University’s (MAFSU) 10th convocation will be organised at Deshpande Hall at 10 am on today. Degrees will be awarded to 1253 students in the ceremony. Out of the total degree holders, 939 graduates, 275 postgraduates and 39 students will be given PhD degrees. Vice-chancellor of the university, Dr. Ashish Paturkar informed in a press conference.
Dr Paturkar said that Sunil Kedar will preside over the function. Dr. Shekhar Mande, director general, council of scientific and industrial research will be present as the chief guest on the occasion.
59 gold medals, 15 silver medals and two cash prizes of 225,000 each will be given during the ceremony. Maximum 7 gold and 4 silver medals will be awarded to Ritu Panchal, student of Nagpur Veterinary College, while 5 gold and one cash prize will be awarded to Nambir Jasna Suresh, student of Mumbai Veterinary College.
