The Nagpur Bench of Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal has issued notices to the commissioner of police and State government for denying opportunity in district Police recruitment of a young woman from Other Backward Class category in Open category.
The name of woman is Kumud Nare resident of Bhishnur in Narkhed tehsil.
The bench also asked to file replies within four weeks.
According to information Kumud’s application, a joint advertisement was published for recruitment in district police, government railway police and prison.
Among these, OBC reservation was not for district police. However, only one application was given for all three recruitment and there were no separate columns to mention category, she submitted application for three recruitment in OBC category.
She scored 74 out of 100 marks in written exam. Meanwhile, candidates getting 63 and above marks in Open category were called for physical test for district police.
Kumud was not given this opportunity due to which she has approached tribunal. As per law, candidates from reserved category can be given job in open category, said. Adv Aakash Moon who is representing Kumud.
