As expected Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Chandrashekhar Bawankule took major lead in the first round itself. He secured 362 first preference votes out of total votes of 560.
Bawankule, even before official announcement is yet to be made, has emerged victorious.
The polling for biennial elections for MLC from Nagpur Local Authority constituency was held on December 10 and counting is in progress on Tuesday.
Congress, which had changed its candidate at the last minute, polled 186 first preference votes. Dr Ravidra alias Chhotu Bhoyar got only one vote.
