The Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari paid visit to the ongoing Science Exhibition ‘Apurva Vigyan Mela’, at Rashtrabhasha Bhavan premises, North Ambazari Road, on Saturday.
Gadkari took keen interest in models presented in the exhibition, particularly battery operated bicycle, made by Subhash Kirpane, Science Teacher of Dadasaheb Dhanwate Nagar Vidyalaya. The cycle runs for about 70 kms using two 12V batteries.
Gadkari appreciated the efforts by Association for research and Training in Basic Science Education, Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Vigyan Prasar, Govrnment of India, joint organisers of the exhibition.
He also asked Education Officer Priti Mishrikotkar to expedite work on proposed Science Centre at Garoba Maidan, here. The work on the Cntre should start within two months, he added.
The exhibition will remain open from 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday, which is the last day of the exhibition.
