The management of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has dismissed services of 16 striking employees, including drivers and conductors, on Friday. It seems that the management has now started taking strict action against the employees.
According to reliable sources, the management had suspended 18 employees in the first lot and issued show case notices to them. Of them, 16 regular employees have been dismissed from services. It has so far suspended over 450 employees in Nagpur division, sources pointed out.
Sources said that these dismissed employees can approach to the court for obtaining stay on the action. If granted stay they can join the duties.
Meanwhile, the ST employees, who are on indefinite strike from Diwali festival, are demanding merger of MSRTC with the government. They are also taking a hard stand because they feel that the government had fooled them all these years and hence they are firm on getting their rights, sources added.
In the meantime, the management operated only 16 buses on Friday to Saoner, Ramtek, Umrer, Katol and Bhandara. The passengers, especially students, are suffering hardships due to the strike by the employees.
