Tension prevailed as two students of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) who returned to the college have been tested positive for novel Corona virus (Covid-19) here on arrival on Friday confirmed NMC officials.
Of the two one is said to be a resident of Washim while second is from Visakhapatnam.
According to details the offline classes are scheduled to start at VNIT from January 2. Following which, the students came back to Nagpur. On arrival, the students underwent RT-PCR tests as a precautionary measure.
A meeting of the college staff with the Director Dr Pramod Padole was held immediately. The students, who tested positive, have been quarantined, while others have been isolated in the hostels itself. The Institute has a large number of rooms and a small number of students who have arrived can be isolated in separate rooms easily.

Dr Padole also stated that the decision on starting off-line classes, will be taken very soon.
The officials at National Institute of Technology at Warangal, Allahabad (Prayagraj) and Jaipure are also discussing the issue, in view of increasing number of Omicron in the country.
