Nagpur Municipal Corporation has decided to provide tabs to disabled students learning in 8th to 10th std in corporation schools in order to enable them take online education in their homes.
A resolution to this effect was passed in a meeting of the Education Committee of NMC held under the presidentship of Prof Dilip Diwe, Chairman of the committee, at Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Hall on Tuesday. NMC is implementing various welfare schemes for disabled students. Now, it will provide them tabs to undertake online education as they are not able to attend the schools.
On the occasion, Prof Diwe took a review of status of admission in all the six English medium schools, repairs to school buildings, students’ uniforms, laptops to super-75 students, measures for improving results of 10st students etc. The meeting also passed resolutions on starting one digital clss in each school, purchasing educational materials through Mayor’s fund for learning of 1st to 7th std students through experiments on the lines of Somalwar School.
In all 12,603 students are taking education in corporation schools in the city.
Sangit Girhe, mohd Ibrahim Taufiq Ahmed, both Members, Priti Mishrikotkar, Education Officer, Rajendra Suke, Asstt Education Officer, Subhash Upase, Sanjay Dighore and others were present in the meeting.
