A committee consisting of a dozen members has been formed to study the aspects to declear Mahendri Conservation Reserve as wildlife sanctuary in Warud Forest Range under Amravati forest circle.
The 16th meeting of State Board for Wildlife had suggested to form a committee of the experts under the presidentship of Chief Conservator of Forest (Regional), Amravati, to verify the possibility of the wildlife sanctuary after taking into confidence the locals and considering practicability by examining rehabilitation of villages and other aspects.
Jayoti Banerjee, CCF, is the President of the committee while Chandrasekaran Bala, DCF, is the Member-Secretary of the committee with V D Dehankar, M N Khairnar, Ms P L Bende, Kishor Rithe, Yadav Tarte Paril, Jayant Wadatkar, Savan Deshmukh, Praveen Rathi, Rakesh Dawande, Vijay Shrirao, kamalnarayan Uikey, Ravindra Babarao Nimbhorkar and Sushila Dashrath Bidkar are the members.
