A five-member committee with Avinash Nilkanth Thakre, Ruling Party Leader in NMC, as its President has been formed to probe into stationery scam in Health Department and financial irregularities in other departments on Thursday, following directives by Dayashankar Tiwari, the Mayor.
The members of the committee are: Tanaji Wanve, Opposition Leader, Vaishali Narnaware, Adv Sanjay Kumar Balpande and Sandip Jadhav.
Thakre and Wanve had raised the issue of financial irregularities and scam in the general body meeting of NMC on December 31, 2021 when the Mayor had given directives to form the committee under section 30 of Maharashtra Municipality Act, informs Dr Ranjana Lade, Municipal Secretary.
