In the last twelve days, the number of active cases in the city has risen from 73 to 7,022. Dharampeth zone has the most cases with 1,572, followed by Laxmi Nagar zone with 1,403 cases. The third zone, Mangalwari, has 1,105 instances. Surprisingly, the hotspot during the second Iwave, Satranjipura, has only 99 active cases.
The fast increase in cases in January has the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) concerned. Despite the fact that there were 7,022 active cases, just 116 people were admitted to the hospital, according to NMC health officer Dr Sanjay Chilkar. There were 48 in government hospitals and 68 in private hospitals.
Dr Chilkar said that 10,273 beds were available in the city for Covid patients in NMC, government and pri vate hospitals. In view of har the possible requirement in future, NMC is working hard on Indira Gandhi, Pachpaoli, Isolation and Ayush Hospitals.
