Sanction building maps immediately: Sonkusre

Rajendra Sonkusre, Chairman of Architecture Committee, asked the officers concerned to sanction maps of buildings immediately to the persons having submitted all necessary documents and completed formalities with Urban Development Department of NMC.

The department receives many applications for construction of new buildings. The department does not sanction maps even after all the formalities are completed by the people. This results in facing hardships to them. Therefore, the officers should ensure that the maps are sanctioned at earliest possible to avoid troubles to the people, Sonkusre said.

He was addressing a review meeting of the committee concerning activities of the department. Rupa Rai, Vandana Bhure, Vandana Chandekar, Members, Pramod Gawande, Deputy Director, Mangesh Gedam, Anand Mokhade and others were present in the meeting.

On the occasion, Sonkusre congratulated the officers for crossing the revenue target of 2021-22. He asked the officers to visit the place of building to check whether the work was being done as per the map and give necessary instructions to avoid any action in the future.

It is observed that the debris of dismantled structures is thrown by the roadside that creates inconvenience to traffic. The officers should act upon the complaints of such nature within 24 hours.

Gawande gave account of the applications received, sorted out or rejected. He said that a target of Rs 102.67 crore was given to the department for 2021-22 but it collected Rs 142.61 crore, including Rs 26.54 crore from ‘Gunthewari’.
