The ten days online Short Course on ‘Pathogenomics and Molecular Advances in Zoonoses Diagnosis’ organized by the Centre for zoonoses, Department of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology, Nagpur Veterinary College, MAFSU, Nagpur during February 16 to February 25 comes to an end.
The course was participated by 24 candidates of Assistant Professor/Scientist and above rank from all over country. The course covered lectures delivered by eminent experts in the area of zoonoses/genomics/diagnostics from the various state and national institutes of ICAR, ICMR and DBT.
The participants were also given practical demonstrations on the topics in the area of advanced diagnostics for zoonoses. The valedictory function was virtually graced by Dr. Seema Jaggi, Assistant Director General (HRD), Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi as Chief Guest; Dr. N.V. Kurkure, Director of Research, MAFSU and Dr. S.W. Bonde, Dean (Fishery), MAFSU as guests of honour and Dr. A.P. Somkuwar, Associate Dean of the college as chairman. Dr. Jaggi during her address praised the efforts taken by Dr. Sandeep Chaudhari, Professor & Head and the course director as well as course coordinators Dr. Shilpshri Shinde and Dr. W.A.Khan for successful organization of the course.
She also guided the participants about the new avenues and opportunities initiated by the Education Division of ICAR and urged for dissipation of the knowledge gained during course to other faculty members.
