Dhantoli zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation in cooperation with Green Vigil Foundation and 93.5 Red FM has launched fourth round of the campaign to remove nails, hoardings, stickers, lighting and advertisements put up illegally on roadside trees from Wednesday.
Volunteers removed these materials from Dhantoli zone office – Sardar Patel Chowk – Mokshdham Chowk – Cotton Market areas under the guidance of Kiran Bagde, Asstt Commissioner.
Surbhi Jaiswsal, team leader of the foundation, said, Xylem and Phloem in the tree break that affects transfer of food and water from the roots to other parts of the tree. Nails cause damages to tree skin resulting in wounds. The foundation is engaged in removing nails, hoardings, banners, advts etc from the trees in various parts of the city, she added.
Dharmendra Patil, Zonal Officer, Jocky Saurabh, Vishal Dhawas, Kaustubh Chatterjee, Mehul Kosurkar, Shriya Joge, Sujay Kalbande, Sakshi Mulekar, Bishnudev Yadav, Vaishnavi Fulkar and officials of Nuisance Detection Squad took part in the campaign.
