Chandrapur, Akola and Wardha sizzled on Tuesday when they recorded maximum temperature of 44.8 degrees Celcius. Brahmapuri closely followed them by registering 44.7 degrees C today. They are the hot places in Vidarbha region during the past two days.
Chandrapur, Akola and Brahmapuri registered the temperature of 44.2 degrees C on Monday while the figure crossed 40 degrees C mark yesterday. Chandrapur and Brahmapuri had also experienced temperature of 44.2 degrees C on Sunday also while Akola wand Wardha were at 43.6 degrees C. It appears that the competition is going on among these places for being hottest place in Vidarbha.
Then comes Yavatmal where the maximum temperature of 44.0 degrees C has been registered on Tuesday. There is a sudden jump in the temperature in Yavatmal from yesterday’s 42.2 degrees C to 44 degrees C today. Nagpur is stagnant at 43.6 degrees C. There is not a single district in the region that has registered temperature less than 40 degrees C today.
Following are the temperature figures in C at other places on Tuesday: Amravati – 43.4, Washim – 43.0, Gondia – 43.2, Washim – 43.0, Buldana – 41.5 and Gadchiroli – 40.6.
Indian Meteorological Department had issued a warning of heat wave for Tuesday. It forecasts thunderstorm with lighting in Vidarbha from April 21 to 23.
