The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on Tuesday granted restricted emergency use authorisation to Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for children between the age group of 6-12 years.
Apart from this, the drug regulator approved two more vaccines. Corbevax has been granted EUA for the age group 5-12 years and Zydus Cadila’s two-dose Covid-19 vaccine has been approved for children above 12 years.
Meanwhile, an official statement on this is awaited.

187.95 cr vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive
So far, more than 2.70 Cr (2,70,96,975) adolescents (12-14 years) have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years have been administered to 4,68,211 people.
