The maximum day temperature in Nagpur on Friday was 43.7 degrees C as against yesterday’s 43.2 degrees C with citizens feeling restless in the scorching heat. Chandrapur registered highest temperature of 45.2 degrees C in Vidarbha region today, closely followed by Wardha with 44.4 degrees C and Brahmapuri with 44.0 degrees C.
Amravati registered the temperature of 43.8 degrees C while Akola experienced the temperature of 43.7 degrees C. Buldana was lowest with 41.0 degrees C in Vidarbha and next to it was Gondia at 41.2 degrees C. The temperature in Gadchiroli has increased to some extent from yesterday’s 41.4 degrees C to 42.6 degrees C. The temperature at Washim and Yavatmal was not available till filing the report.
A comparative study reveals that Chandrapur was the hottest place all over Maharashtra on Friday and the second hottest place was Parbhani in Marathwada, where the temperature was 42.8 degrees C. The lowest temperature prevailed at Mahabaleshwar with 31.9 degrees C today.
Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department has issued warning that heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at isolated places in Vidarbha during the next four days. These conditions will occur at Akola, Wardha and Chandrapur from May 8 to 10, at Nagpur on May 10.
