*Akola continues to be hottest place
The citizens from Nagpur got relief to some extent from scorching heat on Wednesday when it recorded the day temperature at 41.6 degrees C as against yesterday’s 43.2 degrees C.
As for Vidarbha region, Akola continues to be the hottest place with 43.5 degrees C on Wednesday, followed by Brahmapuri and Wardha where the temperature was 43.2 degrees C. Then comes Amravati which registered 43.0 degrees C temperature.
Following are the temperature figures in C at other places in the region: Chandrapur – 42.4, Yavatmal – 42.2, Buldana – 42.0 , Gadchiroli – 41.4 and Gondia – 40.5. The temperature figure of Washim district was not available till filing the report.
As per prediction by Indian Meteorological Department, heat wave conditions likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Vidarbha till May 13.
