Nagpur Division of Central Railway led by Smt. Rich Kahare, DRM awarded an innovative contract for provision and operation of 24X7 Emergency Medical room (EMR) at Nagpur Railway Station with an Eye to provide an important passenger amenity and augmentation of Non Fare Revenue.
Nagpur Railway Station situated in the heart of India caters various needs of boarding/de-boarding as well as passing-by trains. The city is also the biggest medical hub of Central India frequented by many patients from interior Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The availability of EMR at Nagpur Railway Station with a built in Mini ICU and pharmacy shall save human lives in Golden hours. The facility which would be available at Platform No 1 shall have access to both platform and outside patients enabling the nearby locality to benefit from this venture. The facility shall also provide ‘Doctor on’ call service to passing by train passengers with nominal fees of Rs. 100 on call. Further, it would provide free first aid to the Railway passengers. The facility shall be manned by professional Doctor and para-medical staff round the clock. The quality of service and facility shall be ensured by CMS Divisional Railway Hospital, Nagpur and his team.
The formal contract in this regard was handed over by Dr. Champak Biswas, CMS & Shri. Krishnath Patil, Sr. DCM in presence of Shri. Tara Prasad Acharya, CCI(NFR) to Ms. Nilam Jaiswal, Director BDU of Newera Hospital, Nagpur a leading corporate Hospital of Nagpur.
The sixth Non Fare Revenue Contract awarded by Nagpur Division of Central Railway, which was participated by major hospital brands of City also ensured generation of Rs. 1.27 Crs in it’s five year contract period with first year revenue of Rs. 24.05 Lakhs per annum through competitive bidding.
