Nagpur recorded maximum day temperature at 39.0 degrees C on Thursday that was less by 2.8 degrees C than yesterday’s temperature. However, citizens experienced humid atmosphere for the whole day with the relative humidity at 54 per cent till 5.30 pm.
Wardha and Brahmapuri, which are considered to be hottest places in Vidarbha, suddenly became comparatively cool places by recording 37.0 degrees C and 37.5 dgrees C today. Then comes Yavatmal that registered the temperature at 38.2 degrees C.
Akola and Washim experienced 42.5 degrees C each and ranked in the hot places in the region. The temperature figures in C registered on Thursday are: Chandrapur, Gadchiroli – 42.2 each, Amravati – 41.6, Buldana – 40.2 and Gondia – 40.0.
Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department has issued alert that thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places on May 20 at Chandrapur and Gadchiroli.
