Ukraine’s war has dragged on longer than expected, leading to a global recession and inflation. As China’s relations with India, Japan and the Philippines have deteriorated, all these countries are looking up to India for trade. The arrival of a large number of international companies in the country will bring about positive changes in many aspects such as production, management style, job creation and will open doors of opportunities for Indian industry, asserted economist and political analyst Dr. Ajit Ranade.
The Vidarbha Management Association had organized a lecture on Sunday under the ‘Augment’ initiative at the Kavikulguru Kalidas Hall at Persistent System. In this session political analyst Dr. Ajit Ranade and Girish Kuber, editor, writer and columnist of Loksatta were present as keynote speakers. VMA President Mahendra Giridhar and Mehr Jewelers Sudhir Darodkar were present on the stage.
The event was well attended by the audience in huge numbers.
Dr. Ranade spoke on ‘Current Indian Economy in a Global Perspective’. He said that the lockdown caused by Covid had led to a sharp decline in the country’s GDP. it created a unemployment and food crisis. However, in the first quarter of the current financial year, the GDP grew positively by 20 per cent. However, the subsequent decline in GDP is a matter of concern. ‘ said Dr. Ranade
Girish Kuber delivered his discourse on ‘Tata’s way for long term successful business’.
He traced the history of the rise of the Tata Group in seven generations, from Jamshedji Tata to Ratan Tata. On the one hand, while poverty in the country was showcased everywhere, the Tatas, on the other hand, set out to make the country prosperous. Recognizing the needs of the country and society, Tata’s stepped into many fields such as steel, energy, hotels, research, health, education.
The inherent sense of creation is another common link between the seven generations, said Girish Kuber. Tata’s followed the Japanese Ikigai four point formula of that says 1) Do what is needed in world 2) Do your best in whatever you do 3) Ensure you enjoy what you are doing 4) lead a simple life.
VMA President Mahendra Giridhar made the presentation. He reviewed the work of the organization. VMA, which has been operating in Central India for 18 years, said that various programs related to industry management, principals and practices are being implemented and such diversified activities will be continued to be undertaken in future.
The question and answer session was followed by lectures. Dr. Ranade and Girish Kuber gave satisfactory answers to the questions of the audience. Ritesh Agarwal and Dr. Vishal Lichade moderated the program. Former President and Moderator Sachin Jahagirdar introduced the speakers. Secretary of VMA Rohit Dujari proposed vote of thanks.
