After the third wave of COVID receded in the third week of February, the number of COVID patients at the end of March was restricted to fewer than 10.
However, for the past two weeks number of COVID cases is once again rising and in the last week graph of Covid patients rose by about 44 per cent.
In Nagpur district, number of Covid patients from May 1 to May 7 was seven, from May 8 to May 14, the number rose by 17 while from May 15 to May 21, the number declined and was pegged at 12.
However, from May 22 to May 28, the number of Covid cases is again surging as 20 new patients were diagnosed with Covid.
On Tuesday, June 7, Nagpur district reported 25 fresh spike in COVID positive cases. From the total 7 were from rural , 15 were reported from Nagpur city while 3 were detected from outside the district.
Thought no fresh deaths were witnessed in district and so the death tally remains at 10338. With the beginning of fourth wave, the cumulative of positives now stands at 577902 and the active cases are 53 including 34 from the city. The recovery rate is 98.21%.
This rising case of COVID in city has once again put the health authorities on alert. And time to bring back the use of masks once again.
