If you allow multi-level marketing organisations to hold seminars for promotion at your hotel or meeting hall, you should be wary. On Monday, Joint Commissioner of Police (Joint CP) Aswati Dorje issued prohibitory orders in this regard, instructing all such property owners to report such seminars to the City Police’s Economic Offence Wing (EoW).
In a press release, Joint CP Dorje issued the order under Section 144 (1) of CrPC and stated that the hotels or meeting owners should alert the EoW on email -dcpeow.ngp@mahapolice.gov.i n.
Property owners should also bring identification, an Aadhaar card, a PAN card, a mobile number, and the address of the organizer’s office. Similarly, she said in the order that every participant attending the seminar should be entered into a register. In the judgment, the Joint CP also claimed that many such seminars have been held in the past, resulting in naive investors losing their hard-earned money to fraudulent schemes.
