The Election Commission on Wednesday announced election for the new Vice President of India will be held on August 6. The counting of votes will be held on the same day if required.

Issue of Election Commission’s notification calling the election- July 5
Last date of making nominations- July 19
Date for the Scrutiny of nominations- July 20
Last date for the withdrawal of candidatures – July 22
Date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken- August 6
Hours of poll- 10 am to 5 pm
Date on which counting, if required, shall be taken- August 6
