In furtherance of Railway Boards project to introduce HHTs (Hand Held Terminal) on Indian Railways for computerized onboard ticket checking and allotment of vacant berths to passengers, the Nagpur Division Central Railway has introduced the latest technological gadget “HHT†for Ticket checking onboard trains.
Under the able guidance of Smt. Richa Khare Divisional Railway Manager  and monitoring of Shri Krishnath Patil Senior Divisional Commercial Manager  and supervision of Shri Hemant Behera  Assistant Commercial Manager (TC), the training has been imparted to the Ticket checking staff of Nagpur Division and the first train to be subjected with HHT ticket checking is Duranto Express 12290/12289 from 05-07-2022, in which all the Ticket checking staff are provided with HHTs.
The HHT with the size of iPad will be loaded with a passenger reservation chart, since it is connected with the Central Server of PRS (Passenger Reservation system) through GPRS the details of booking of tickets, vacant berths position is updated on a real-time basis. This will immensely help the Passengers with Reservation against cancellation or waiting list tickets. This will bring transparency and in allotment of berths.
The HHT will end the era of Printed Reservation charts being carried by the TTE onboard.
In near future the HHT can also be used for collecting excess Fare, Penalty, and other charges from passengers and issuing the receipt for the same to them.
The Roll out of HHT Ticket checking will be extended to all trains in the division in the future.
