To commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil war the country celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas every year on 26 July.
Known as “Operation Vijay†the conflict resulted in the eviction of Pakistani Intruders from Indian soil.
To pay homage to the bravehearts of the Kargil war, Major General Dinesh Hooda, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area along with Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, other Ranks and Veterans laid wreath at the war memorial at Kamptee.
To commemorate the sacrifice made by Kargil Heroes, a wreath-laying was carried out by Gp Capt Brijesh Kumar Chauhan, Gp Cdr, NCC Gp on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas today at Nagpur.
On the solemn occasion, the General Officer interacted with the soldiers and veterans, while remembering the deeds of the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice on the icy heights to protect their motherland.
