The ragging incident which took place two to three days ago came to the light after the video of the incident went viral on social media platforms today.
The purported video shows the six junior students standing in a queue with their heads bowed while the senior students could be seen slapping and abusing them.
After the video of the incident went viral, the disciplinary committee of the college took cognizance of the matter and initiated an inquiry.
Sources claimed when hostel warden Dr. Anurag Jain rushed to the spot after receiving the information about the ragging, the senior students misbehaved with him and threw liquor bottles at him.
Meanwhile, seven students seen in the viral video have been suspended for three to six months from the medical college and expelled from the hostel, said reports.
Sources in the college said that a complaint in this regard has also been forwarded to authorities in Delhi.
Earlier on July 26, over eight senior medical students of the government-run – Mahatma Gandhi Medical College (MGM), Indore were booked for assaulting, ragging, and bullying first-year students. An FIR in this regard was registered at Sanyogitaganj police station on July 25 by an anti-ragging committee of the college.
