Once again fly ash from Khaparkheda Thermal Power Station (KTPS) ash pond has started overflowing and observed in Kanhan River near intake wells.
As a precautionary measure, the raw water pumping on the right bank of the river has been stopped. This will adversely impact the water supply to the 28 Elevated Surface Reservoirs (ESRs)command areas dependent on Kanhan water treatment plan feeder mains from Nor, East and parts of South Nagpur.
