Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University in Solapur held a Certificate Course in Acupressure Examination in November 2021, and 26 students from Nagpur and Solapur passed it (PAHSUS).
Recently, Shri Sai Samarth Education and Medical Research arranged a meeting to congrats all the students on Dhanwantari at Shrimati Dadibai Deshmukh Hindu Mulinchi Shala, Mahal.
Dr. Nishikant Raut, HOD of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Director of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, RTM Nagpur University, addressed the gathering and announced that this course is now being offered in Nagpur as well.
He wished to make it more research-based so that the contemporary generation can benefit from this age-old science. Additionally, he spoke with 60 students from the current class who will be enrolled in RTMNU’s certificate programme in August 2022.
The fourth group of 26 students from Solapur and Nagpur who took the exam this year was there for it.
Under the supervision of qualified instructors, classes were conducted online and practical sessions were physically held at the Parag Kulkarni Acupressure Treatment Centers in both cities.
Under the direction of university officials, the exams were conducted entirely offline in both cities.
The initial assignment for students was to write a thorough thesis on a disease of their choice that they could treat utilising various acupressure spots and methods.
Then, in addition to a viva, they were required to practically illustrate these ideas. Three papers—Anatomy, Acupressure History, and Acupressure Principles—made comprised the theory section.
Students between the ages of 20 and 68 took the test. Many of them came from non-medical backgrounds, such as engineers, professors, physiotherapists, businessmen, executives, housewives, students, retirees, etc.
Vandana Rajkarne, Amruta Sutrave, and Chinmayi Mendhi, the top three students in this course, received special recognition for their hard work.
According to Sri Parag Kulkarni, anyone who wants to use this age-old knowledge to benefit society can understand the syllabus because it is quite straightforward.
Since the past 31 years, he has been practising acupressure in Nagpur. He is also the well-known author of a thorough book on the subject, which is currently accessible in Marathi and Hindi and is advised as study material by RTMNU and PAHSUS for students planning to take the exam.
At the moment, therapists he trained administer acupressure treatments at eight facilities in Nagpur, Kurdwadi, and Solapur.
Many of the students also spoke at the event and shared their own stories about how acupressure has improved their lives.
President of Stree Shikshan Prasarak Mandal and the ceremony’s chief guest, Shri Ravindra Fadnavis, thanked RTMNU for bringing this course to our city as well as the students.
He also praised Parag Kulkarni for creating the institutions PKAT and SSSEMR, which operate selflessly and for very little money in the service of society as a whole.
According to Shrikant Deshpande, Pradesh Prashikshak of the BJP and a former Sanghatan Mantri, a framework should be created for the establishment of optimal acupressure treatment facilities in each village and town for the welfare of future generations.
The students were addressed by Sri Parag Kulkarni, who said that they should think of acupressure practise as a noble career with great potential throughout all cities.
It is very helpful in crises when a patient does not have access to medical services nearby and does not require any equipment or expensive clinics.
Reflexology points located on the face, spinal cord, palms, and soles can be used to treat patients through these procedures by anyone who chooses to work as an acupressure therapist.
Along with this, students would also learn in-depth information about the fourteen meridians, which would help them treat a variety of conditions relating to the body and mind, such as common illnesses, pains, fevers, swellings, high/low blood pressure, diabetes, eye problems, stomach aches, liver, kidney, spine, lung problems, and many others.
Renuka Jangde, Senior Therapist, gave a thank-you speech before Dhanwantari Pujan and Prasad offered their closing remarks.
