- Metro ridership is rising as a result of focused organisational efforts, according to Maha Metro MD Dr. Dixit.
Maha Metro has made serious efforts to increase ridership Ina Nagpur. Many steps like organizing Metro Samwaad, communicating the message of Metro as a safe mode of transport to people. These efforts bore fruits and today Maha Metro commands a respectable ridership, said Dr Brijesh Dixit, MD, Maha Metro, today.
Dr Dixit was speaking at Plenary Session of Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference currently underway at Kochi, Kerala.
The 3-day conference which began yesterday was inaugurated by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, while Kerala Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, who was Chief Guest at the event, was present online.
Maha Metro organised more than 200 Metro Samwaad events at various places like schools, colleges, and government and private offices, besides business establishments. The message that Metro train is a safe mode of transport was imbibed on prospective commuters. Such committed efforts ensured that Maha Metro today commands a sizeable ridership, he said.
Most importantly, these figures are set to increase in the future and Metro ridership would increase further, he added. While working on ridership, Maha Metro has simultaneously worked on other aspects like TOD (Transit Oriented Development). Dr Dixit also spoke on the progress achieved by Maha Metro on various fronts.
The 3-day national conference will conclude tomorrow.
