Finally enquiry into allegations against Dharmesh Dhawankar, teacher with Department of Mass Co0mmunication of Rashtrasnat Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has been instituted. Dhawankar was charged with extortion of money from seven university teachers.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr Subhash Chaudhari has instituted enquiry against Dhawankar on Monday. The enquiry started after four of the Dhawankar’s seven victims lodged a formal complaint with the Vice-Chancellor. Copies of the complaint were also forwarded to the Chancellor and Governor and the Chief Minister.
Dhawankar is charged with threatening the seven, almost all the heads of different departments, for making public allegations of sexual exploitation against them. They paid about Rs 16 lakhs to Dhanwankar. Surprisingly none of them formally enquired about the said complaint against them, with the university departments or officials and paid the amount.
Dhawankar is also PRO of the University and had threatened the teachers that knows about the said complaints and can manage the members of the committee and the lawyers.
Involvement of other persons in the University is suspected. Enquiry into the allegations would reveal the situation.
