Podcasting and YouTubing are the things the youth is into these days. Many stories of quick success and the utopia of low hanging fruits, the digital world has everything to amaze the youth.
No strange that everyone is or a ‘wanna be content creator’ of some sort. But, to make a living out of it one needs more than mere zeal. Mass comm students certainly have the upper hand when it comes to pursue a career in podcasting or YouTubing. Sonali Nakshane, a podcaster, YouTube vlogger and RJ, addressed the elephant in the room – what does it takes to do this ? She was delivering a special lecture to the students of the RTMNU’s Mass Comm department as a guest expert.
Radio is the theatre of mind. The listener visualises everything that is being said. The RJ or the Podcaster acts as the director of this theatre. Elocution, presence of mind, alertness and many more things come handy in this but there’s no formula and one has to catch his own rhythm, Nakshane given the word of experience. From the podcast platforms to the business aspects of this career, everything was discussed in the session. Starting as an amateur Podcaster is easy, this was the takeaway for the students. HoD Dr Moiz Mannan Haque wittily encapsulated the journey of audio communication. Astha Tiwari compered the program and Faculty member Shruti Ingole presented the vote of thanks.
