Festival to be inaugurated by CEO Zilla Parishad at Gadchiroli
Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi (AMS), an NGO in Gadchiroli is organizing a two-day fair (Beejotsav) of different types of organic products like crops and seeds and by-products made from them on December 2 & 3, 2022, at the Kisan Mangal Karayalaya.
It is an effort to bring farmers engaged in organic and natural farming (without the use of any chemicals or pesticides and fertilizers etc) to one platform from Vidarbha. It is also aimed at bringing the young generation of entrepreneurs and youth who believe in organic farming to reach poison-free foods to the common masses.
The CEO of Zilla Parishad, Kumar Ashirwad Gadchiroli will inaugurate the exhibition cum fair.
Satish Gogulwar, the founder trustee and convenor of AMS told The Live Nagpur that it is for the first time that such a fair is being organized in Gadchiroli. It is an extension of the same fair in Nagpur. “It is also an effort to tell farmers and buyers to preserve and conserve the traditional seeds as they alone can bring the change towards sustainable livelihood for the public, IN Nagpur already a lot of youth is attached to Beejotsav. I wish to motivate youth here too for this,” he added.
It will be an exhibition of some of the innovative efforts going on in villages on indigenous seeds, organic fertilizers, medicines, traditional foods, non-toxic foods, environmental farming, etc. Farmers can directly sell poison or chemical-free foods directly to consumers.
With the fair, there will be workshops where dialogue will be held between the experts and government officials. Progressive farmers will also share their views and experiences.
