A full mock drill by Railway Rescue Team, NDRF and Civil Defence Team was carried out at Ajni Railway Station on Friday. In order to check the alertness of the railway teams, an accident of 12101 Dnyaneshwari Express was reported. Two coaches derailed and one caught fire. One passenger was reported dead and 18 injured, six of them seriously.
The mock drill was carried out as per instructions of the Railway Board and under the guidance of DRM Rucha Khare and Senior Security Officer Vijay Kumar Pandey.
Upon getting the information of the accident the DRM along with senior officers rushed to the spot and review the rescue operations. Two fire tenders reached the spot and defused the fire in a coach. DRM personally talked to the injured and assured all possible help, including ex-gratia payment. The relatives were issued passes to reach the accident spot.
The entire procedure was followed meticulously in the mock drill, planned by Vijay Pandey an senior officers Kamlesh and H S Raghuvanshi.
