“IIM Nagpur should become the Indian Institute of Human Management because the future lies in human management,” said the spiritual guide, social reformer, and educationist Padma Bhushan Sri M. He was speaking during the launch of the book, ‘Manthan with Sri M’ held on the IIM Nagpur, MIHAN campus on Thursday.
India’s ancient texts like Bhagwad Geeta, Yoga Sutra, Vedas, and Upanishads discuss many of the questions and problems of the modern days in a slightly different fashion, Sri M pointed out. Intellectual churning and dialogue are essential aspects of learning. Science, humanity, and spirituality need to come together in totality. My mission is to bring out the Vedantas and our ancient texts from the caves and make them simple for the general public’s understanding, Sri M informed. “While going around your academic activities, spare some time for contemplation and yoga,” he advised. Other than academics, all IIMs should include three things in their curriculum: yoga for physical and mental exercise, meditation, and spoken Sanskrit, Sri M insisted.
Sri M interacted with the audience and answered their queries by sharing his experiences. IIM Nagpur and Vishwamanthan Research Foundation (VRF) had jointly organised the book launch programme.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur, informed that the Institute, despite being one of the youngest IIM, had achieved several milestones within a very short span of seven years of its inception. He asserted that with guidance from spiritual leaders like Sri M, IIM Nagpur is bound to grow faster than fast. Interaction with spiritual leaders is a must, as they give you an entirely different perspective on life. I am sure this book, ‘Manthan with Sri M,’ will be a guiding light for IIM Nagpur students and the general public, Dr. Metri added.
Lt. Col. Makarand Alur, Chief Administrative Officer IIM Nagpur, Mr. Satish Sarda of VRF, felicitated Sri M on the occasion. At the outset, Mr. Sagar Matkari from the VRF introduced the works of the foundation, and the idea behind publishing the preaching’s of Sri M. Earlier, Rohan Parekh from the VRF introduced the book to the audience.
