The 61-year-old brain-dead patient, Subhash Lute, from Nagpur city gave a new lease of life to two patients by donating both the kidneys and liver. Kidney 1 was allotted to Seven Star Hospital and was transplanted in a 38 years, female. Kidney 2 was allotted to Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital and was transplanted in a 52 year, male. However, the Liver was allocated to Seven Star Hospital to a patient of 58 yrs female but was found medically unfit for the transplant.
Subhash Lute, a businessman had complaints of vertigo with vomiting fell unconscious and was admitted to Seven Star Hospital. His MRI brain test shows a brain haemorrhage. A team of Doctors treated him for 3 days but his condition deteriorated and declared him brain dead on March 7, on the festival day of colours- Rangapanchami. His both sons Shubham and Rohan work as OT Technicians at Seven Star Hospital were counselled by Dr Sandeep Nagmote and Dr Shafi Khan. The Family agreed to say that his father once had pledged to donate organs. Son Shubham who gave written consent said, we are happy that we could full fill his wish.
The team of Doctors declared him brain dead by the Director of Seven Star Hospital- Dr Prashant Rahate Neurosurgeon -Dr. Utkasha Ghavghave, Critical care Intensivist- Dr Ramesh Hasani, and Physician- Dr Mohan Nerkar. Donor Maintainace by Technical team and nursing staff – Vidya Hadke, Reshma Walia, Surekha Pathose, Durga, Roshni and Bhavna.
The team of Liver Transplant surgeons from Chennai, Dr Rajnikant Patcha & Dr Mettu Shrinivas Reddy, Dr Selvakumar, along with Dr Neeraj Sawalakhe, and Dr Ramesh Hasani inspected the Liver but found it medically unfit to transplant.

Serology – Donor and Recipients Organs cross match was done by Dr Shailendra Mundhada, Druv Pathology lab. Seven Star Hospital staff created the honour corridor & paid tributes to the donor. & provided Free ambulance service.
This completes a century of deceased donations under ZTCC Nagpur. Took exactly 10 years with the first one happening on April 5, 2013. Marks an important landmark whence the region promises to see a regular spree of donations.
