STEM Lab has been started in Zilla Parishad School in Warthi village in Mohadi taluka in Bhandara district. Te lab was inaugurated by the District Collector Yogesh Kumbhejkar and MLA Raju Karemore.
The lab was developed with Rs 15 lakh from Karemore’s Local Area Development Fund. The lab can be used by students from more than 15 Zilla Parishad Schools in the region.
STEM is an activity-based learning method in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It is an important programme which helps the students to understand the subjects in a better way. With the digitization of schools, the introduction of STEM labs is an important step in the teaching and learning procedure.
Under STEM teachers are first imparted training, so as to facilitate teaching in schools. The students will be able to involve the peer group members in the activity. The efforts are to make science and mathematics learning simple. STEM kits have been developed for the purpose.
STEM Labs were introduced in Nagpur Municipal Schools a few years ago.
