The Ministry of Railways has started operation of Bharat Gaurav tourist trains from different parts of the country. With the aim of promoting tourism, Indian Railways has introduced ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ and ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ concepts to promote India’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
Operated by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC)) for the pilgrims of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train will run the ‘Dakshin Bharat Shubh Yatra’ train that will start from Bilaspur on May 25 at 12 noon.
The train will pass through Bilaspur, Bhatapara, Tilda Nora, Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh and Gondia, Tirora, Bhandara Road, Nagpur (9.30 pm), Sevagram, Ballarshah stations in Maharashtra.
Passengers can board the train from any of the these stations. The train will then travel to Rameswaram, Madurai, Tirupati and Srisailam Mallikarjuna Jyotirling temples that will be covered in 7 nights and 8 days. IRCTC will charge Rs 15,500 per person for the journey in sleeper class that is
all-inclusive of rail travel in special LHB rakes of Bharat Gaurav Trains, on-board and off-board meals, road transport and sightseeing, non-ac accommodation, tour guides, trav- el insurance, on-board security and housekeeping services.
Interested tourists can book the tickets through IRCTC tourism website and authorized agents. A 5 percent discount will be offered to passenger who booktheir ticket from the IRCTC counters located at Nagpur station, informed Dr Kranti Sawarkar, Joint Director, IRCTC during conference. Also present were Tanveer Khan, Group general Manager, IRCTC and Dilip Singh, Senior DSO, Indian Railways.
