In many areas of the city, stray dogs are a threat. Numerous people have been hurt by stray dogs in recent months. On Wednesday, the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court took note of this situation and requested that the municipal commissioner provide comprehensive details by September 20.
Businessmen Vijay Talewar and Manoj Shakya have filed a PIL in the High Court with the demands that effective measures should be taken to end stray menace in the city and compensation should be paid to the citizens bitten by stray dogs. It was heard before justices Avinash Gharote and Urmila Joshi.
