The Central Department of Social Justice has started ‘Young Achievers Award Scholarship’ for meritorious students of Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward (EBC) and DNT of Class 9 & 10 and Class 11 & 12 from last year. ‘Yashasvi Entrance Test’ was introduced last year for the students of class VIII and class 10 to get this scholarship. This entrance exam is conducted by NTA. 75,000 per year in 9th and 10th year and 1 lakh 25,000 rupees is being given to eligible students in 11th and 12th year.
According to NTA’s letter, this scholarship will be given only on the basis of marks of students in 8th and 10th instead of successful entrance exam. Students with marks above 60 percent should apply for this. After that, the students will be selected from the National Scholarship Portal, it is mentioned in the leaflet. Sources said that the exam was canceled to avoid the pressure of another exam on the students.
