The online system was closed in the government medical college and hospital about a year ago. After a few months, only the system of registration and billing was made online but the history of patients and various types of tests are still not online. after taking X-ray, the patient and his family members have to take a screenshot of the computer on their mobile. Patients who do not have smart phones have to wander for help.
The GMC X-ray department remains operational 24 hours. Due to high number of patients and less X-ray machines, patients have to wait for a long time. There are 2 X-ray machines in the department and 4 technicians working to run them. All four work shift wise but most of the time X-ray is done on only one machine.
At the time of online system, X-ray reports were directly available on doctors’ computers. Because of this, there was no need to supply the film, but after the system was closed, the Medical Education and Research Department did not supply the film. X-ray film is given only in some emergency patients like MLC cases.
After the X-ray of the patient admitted in ward is taken, the family members are asked to take a computer screenshot. There are many patients who do not have smart phones. In this condition they have to wander. Many times there is no clarity even when taking an X-ray film on a mobile. Doctors somehow understand this situation. Although the treating doctors are also facing problems, they are silent due to the government not making alternative arrangements.
