The Thailand government has decided to allow Indian tourists to visit without a Visa. The decision has been taken to boost tourism in the country, which is the main source of income for the country. Indians will be able to visit Thailand without a Visa from November 10. The facility will be available for the next six months.
Earlier in September Thailand scrapped the Visa requirements for Chinese tourists. From January to October 29, about 22 billion people visited Thailand, generating a revenue of 927.5 billion Baht ($25.67 billion).
India has been Thailand’s fourth largest source of market for tourism. So far about 1.2 million Indians visited Thailand this year, which is next to Malaysia, China, and South Korea. More airlines and hospitality chains have entered the tourism market.
Thailand is targeting about 28 million arrivals this year. The tourism industry was adversely affected during the Covid-19 pandemic.
