The eagerly awaited Tadoba Festival commenced with great fervour and enthusiasm today in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. The inaugural day of the three day extravaganza, hosted by the esteemed Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, unfolded with a series of captivating performances and dignitary speeches, captivating the audience and setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
The morning session of Day 1 began with technical sessions and exhibitions focusing on various aspects of wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism practices. Participants engaged in enlightening discussions and tested their knowledge with a nature quiz, setting the tone for the day’s events.
The opening ceremony commenced with the traditional Gondi Act,showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region followed by lamp lighting ceremony and speeches by dignitaries and the ministers.
Renowned actress and Wildlife Goodwill Ambassador of Maharashtra, Raveena Tandon, who graced the occasion as the special guest, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasising the importance of preserving our natural heritage
The highlight of the evening was the heartfelt message by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, emphasising the significance of wildlife conservation and sustainable development. The audience were also treated to a captivating short film presentation showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. This was followed by traditional dance performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra.
All distinguished guests were welcomed with warmth and hospitality, post which there was an introductory address by the Field Director of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR), Dr Jitendra Ramgaonkar .The day also witnessed the release of significant publications related to wildlife conservation and the unveiling of initiatives aimed at preserving the natural heritage of Maharashtra. Address by dignitaries further reiterated the commitment towards protecting the precious ecosystems of the region.

Through this event, we reaffirm our dedication to preserving our wildlife and fostering harmony between humans and nature.” stated Sudhir Mungantiwar, Minister for Forests, Cultural Affairs and Fisheries in Maharashtra Government.
The festivities culminated with a mesmerising cultural program featuring a sand art show by the renowned artist Shri Sudharshan Patnaik, followed by a soul-stirring musical concert by the celebrated singer, Shreya Ghoshal, enchanting the audience with her melodious voice.
The Tadoba Festival promises to continue its celebration of wildlife conservation, sustainable tourism and local heritage over the next two days, offering attendees an enriching and unforgettable experience.
