The Vanamati Institute and the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) are jointly organizing the National Seed Festival from April 27th to 29th. The event will be held at the Sw. Vasantrao Naik Smriti Sabhagruha (Vanamati) in Nagpur.
The festival aims to create awareness about the conservation and propagation of indigenous seed varieties. Scheduled to commence on April 27th at 11:00 AM, it will witness participation from various stakeholders in the agriculture sector, including farmers, researchers, government officials, and educational institutions.
The festival is part of a broader initiative to enhance food literacy, with ongoing efforts such as seed festivals, food safety councils, farmer capacity-building programs, and consumer awareness campaigns. Collaboration among farmers, volunteer organizations, research institutions, governmental bodies, and educational institutions is emphasized to ensure the availability of environmentally friendly, safe, and nutritious food for future generations.
With an expected attendance of 15,000 to 20,000 visitors over the three-day span, the festival will feature guidance and insights from experts like Sanjay Patil, Rashmi Bakshi, Dr. Satish Gogulwar, Dr. Meena Shelgavkar, Anjali Mahajan, and others.
