Devotees across Nagpur gathered to celebrate Buddha Purnima, the birth anniversary of Lord Gautama Buddha, with great devotion and joy. This year marked the 2586th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha, and the celebrations were vibrant.
The people was abuzz with various religious ceremonies and rituals, reflecting the global observance of this significant day by Buddhists. Buddha Purnima, also known as Buddha Jayanti, Buddha’s birthday, or Buddha Day, is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Vaisakha, which falls in April or May.
A highlight of the celebrations was the “Let’s Walk Towards Buddha” Dhamma Rally. Devotees participated in this religious procession, embodying the spirit of Buddha’s teachings of truth, non-violence, harmony, and love for all living beings. This important day is observed by Buddhists worldwide.
