The Air and Railway traffic has been affected due to heavy rains in Mumbai. More than 50 flights from Mumbai have been cancelled. These flights also include Nagpur-Mumbai and Mumbai-Nagpur air routes.
Airlines company Indigo’s flight numbers 6E804 Mumbai-Nagpur and 6E806 Nagpur-Mumbai have been cancelled. Along with this, flight 6E5132 Mumbai-Nagpur was to take off at 4:40 pm, but this flight took off from Mumbai at 5:45 pm and landed in Nagpur at 7:10 am, 45 minutes late from the scheduled time.
At the same time, 6E622 Nagpur-Mumbai flight was scheduled to take off at 6:55 pm. However, this flight took off from Nagpur at 7:35 pm and landed in Mumbai at 9 pm with a delay of 30 minutes.
Heavy rain has affected not only flights but also trains. Mumbai division of Central Railway has changed the timings of more than 15 trains. Among these, the number of trains going from Mumbai to Nagpur and Howrah route is high. Mumbai-Bhubaneshwar, CST-Howrah, Mumbai-Gondia Vidarbha Express, Shalimar Express, Mumbai-Ballarshah Nandigram Express were delayed by about 2 to 3 hours from their scheduled time. Railway says that after heavy rains, the tracks are filled with water, after which the train will run on its scheduled time.
